First, who is DPSG?
Dr Pepper Snapple Group (NYSE: DPS) is one of the largest beverage companies in the Americas. They manufacture, market and distribute more than 50 brands of carbonated soft drinks, juices, ready to drink teas, mixers and other premium beverages across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Their diverse portfolio includes Dr Pepper, Snapple, 7UP, Mott’s, A&W, Sunkist Soda, Canada Dry, Hawaiian Punch, Schweppes, Peñafiel, Squirt, Clamato, Mr & Mrs T Mixers, Rose’s, Yoo-hoo and other consumer favorites.

The DPSG Challenge:
Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPSG) was looking to integrate disparate internal systems to improve employee lines of communication, and to increase transparency between operational units. By streamlining access to information across all user groups, DPSG hoped to reduce duplicated efforts and increase overall efficiency at both the corporate and brand level. A system was needed that would provide access to all organizational, brand and partner information, media and assets for both internal and external use, a base of more than 10,000 users.

The Merge Solution:
The EDGE, built on the Merge Framework™, is a single-source solution used by all internal and external groups: Corporate, Field Sales, National Accounts, Distributors, Bottlers and Media Agencies, for accessing corporate, product and brand related materials.

The EDGE provides a rich visual user experience with a highly usable interface to support the broad range of users and their varying web configurations. The site itself lives and breathes the DPSG family of brands, with each user experience customized to the brands that are relevant to the user and their role on the EDGE.

EDGE tools and features include an extensive Document Management Center, Brand Information Centers, Image Library, Retail Promotion Library, and Comprehensive Promotion Management Tools for In-Store Promotional Material and POS, Online Ordering, Document Kits and more.

In addition to the Content Management System, DPSG leverages the Framework’s robust Newsletter and Email Management tool for sending out both automated and manual newsletters and daily updates. Based on communication preferences, an EDGE user will receive daily, weekly and monthly alerts on content updates that are directly relevant to their needs and interests. Weekly newsletters highlight the most important updates of the week with upcoming promotion order deadlines and more.

The CMS module is highly customized to allow complete control of all site content and assets for the entire DPSG family of brands, providing DPSG Content Administrators the ability to publish the latest content in real-time. The in-house administrative team leverages the Versioning and Workflow modules to not only manage and publish their own content, but that of content owners and editors throughout the organization. This provides DPSG with the ability to manage information in a single solution while still being able to oversee, manage and approve content before it is published.

A network of Single-Sign-On (SSO) solutions, implemented through the Framework’s Web Service API Communications Network allow EDGE users to seamlessly connect and work within other DPSG internal and external systems without the need to manage countless logins and passwords. Not only does the SSO network provide for easy and seamless site access and logins, it also provides for content sharing and consuming via a push-pull feed network of partner sites.
