First, who is Ecoscene?
Ecoscene takes a closer look at living green by asking questions, thoroughly testing, and providing valuable unbiased feedback about eco-friendly products and services.
Encourages readers to become educated consumers and make smart and informed decisions when purchasing sustainable alternatives, with a focus on quality of information, accessibility, integrity and transparency.
Provides readers unbiased, authentic, consumer experienced information on green products through a variety of mediums, including weekly e-mails, searchable website database, daily blog coverage and social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube.

The Ecoscene Challenge:
Ecoscene had hit a plateau in growing its brand and user base. It needed a refreshed, well examined brand identity to convey its mission with immediate impact, and provide a solid foundation for expansion. Furthermore, their existing website was difficult to manage and often plagued with bugs and errors, inhibiting Ecoscene from adequately engaging and maintaining its readers. The company needed a new site built on a scalable platform that could support future growth, and that used the latest technologies to enable users to consume content in an easy, intuitive manner. To survive, they had to get to the “next level”, and establish themselves as a reputable, reliable and distinguished source in the field of environmentally-friendly product reviews.

The Merge Solution:
Merge developed the new Ecoscene brand identity, visually conveying the Ecoscene mission and message while capturing its unique personality, making it a memorable contender in its market space. Additionally, using the Merge Framework™, Merge built a robust web solution that enables Ecoscene to easily and efficiently control all aspects of their website.

The new Ecoscene identity is inviting, clean, fresh and open, visually reflecting the brand mission. The updated typographic treatment and color palette provide a more immediate understanding of what the company does, incorporating the magnifying glass icon which conveys examination, research and investigation. To further help clearly and succinctly communicate the company’s service, Merge developed the tagline “a closer look at living green.”

Merge then created a website interface design that provided a truly branded experience and that presented all information in a user friendly, easy-to-consume, professional manner.

Built on the Merge Framework™, the new site incorporated a complete content management system, which allows administrators to easily manage every single aspect of the site, from content, articles, images, advertising and member deals.
